Bard Epic 1.0 — Singing Short Sword
The Bard's song-enhanced 1-hand sword. Multi-guild chain.
The Bard Epic 1.0 rewards Singing Short Sword — a 1-handed sword that enhances Bard song potency and provides a signature melody-themed proc.
Reward
- Singing Short Sword — 1-handed slashing.
- Passive: Enhances all Bard songs while held.
- On-hit: Song-themed proc.
Chain shape (approximate)
- Starting turn-in — Bard guild (Kelethin, Freeport, Qeynos, or Felwithe).
- Song-reagent phase — gather racial song components from various outdoor zones.
- Kunark phase — quest from a Kunark-aligned Bard mentor.
- Velious / Planes step — assist in a named kill in a plane or Velious raid zone.
- Final combine — at a Bard guild, usually the same one the chain started at.
Why this chain matters
The Singing Short Sword turns a Bard into a more potent song-engine. For mana-cohort Bards in raid, the sword's passive is a raid-critical multiplier.
Custom race-class note
Bard is restricted in canonical EQ to Human / Half Elf / Wood Elf / Vah Shir. On Crushbone any race can roll. Bards are fortunately fairly flexible at the starting guild — Kelethin (for elven races), Freeport (neutral), Qeynos (good humans). Even cross-race starts are usually workable.
