Zones

Plane of Knowledge

The hub zone. Every starting city books here. Neutral ground for every race and faction.

The Plane of Knowledge (PoK) is the central hub of Crushbone. When Quellious opened PoK in canonical EverQuest history, she made it neutral — no faction fights in here, and every major city agreed to place a stone book leading back to their home square.

On Crushbone

PoK is the single zone every player visits daily. Banks, trainers, tradeskill vendors, guild portals, soulbinders, and the eight directional portal stones are all in PoK. The library in the center of the zone — the Plane of Knowledge Library — hosts a deep bank of lore books and the Quellious-priesthood merchants.

Key features

  • Portal stones — one per major city, placed in a ring around the Plane. Hand the city's token at the stone to travel.
  • Banks — multi-continent bank access. Your Qeynos inventory reads from Freeport, Kaladim, Neriak, etc.
  • Trainers — every class has a trainer here. No need to return to your starting city for level-up training.
  • Quellious's Library — the scholarly center. Lore researchers and history NPCs live here.
  • The books home — every starting city has a stone book in PoK. Click it to travel.

ZEM

PoK is a hub, not an XP zone. Its ZEM is set to 0 — no experience is awarded here by design. Fight in the outer realms for XP; return to PoK to bank, train, buy, and meet up.

Cleanups on Crushbone

Crushbone has run a two-phase PoK cleanup to address a vertex-buffer crash on Apple Silicon clients when too many NPCs populate the zone at once. Phase 1 (2026-04-21) removed 92 placeholder and decorative NPCs (down from ~488 distinct to ~395). Phase 2 (planned) will consolidate merchant NPCs further. See the Changelog for the live log.

The Rusty-led Crushbone GM guild is bound here by design — removing them would break their role. They remain despite the cleanup.
