Ranger Epic 1.0 — Earthcaller

The Ranger's iconic bow. Cross-continent chain culminating in a raid-level dragon kill.

The Ranger Epic 1.0 rewards Earthcaller — a bow with signature nature-themed proc. The chain famously spans outdoor zones and culminates in a raid-level dragon kill.

Reward

  • Earthcaller — Ranged bow.
  • On-hit: Nature proc (damage + minor DoT).
  • +DEX / +STA.

Chain shape (approximate)

  1. Starting turn-in — Ranger trainer in Kelethin (Tunarean Court) or Surefall Glade.
  2. Outdoor component phase — forage-and-kill across Karanas, Nektulos, Butcherblock. Some steps involve rare outdoor named.
  3. Kunark component — named kill in Field of Bone or Warslik's Wood.
  4. Velious outdoor step — kill a specific named in Eastern Wastes or Great Divide.
  5. Raid dragon step — kill a named dragon-aspect. Usually coordinated with a guild raid in Temple of Veeshan or equivalent.
  6. Final combine — Tunare-aligned grove.

Why this chain matters

Earthcaller defines endgame Ranger bow-DPS in the Classic-Kunark era. Combined with Endless Quiver AA (PoP era), the bow is sustained raid-level DPS.

Custom race-class note

Ranger is restricted in canonical EQ to Wood Elf / Half Elf / Human / Halfling. On Crushbone any race can roll — but Kelethin / Surefall faction is required for the starting turn-in. Good-race Rangers are mostly fine; Dark Elf and Troll Rangers need serious faction work.
