Chardok

The Sarnak fortress of Kunark. Charm-soloer's paradise and the Royals' camp.

Chardok is a Sarnak fortress dungeon in Frontier Mountains on Kunark. Multi-level, hostile, and home to the famous Royals camp — a cluster of named Sarnak royalty (Queen, King, Prince, Princess) with rich drop tables. Chardok is where Enchanters and Necromancers go to prove their class: charm-soloing Royals is the server's canonical charm-mastery test.

Geography

Chardok is layered vertically and by function.

Main Floor (levels 45-52)

Sarnak warrior patrols and lesser named. Standard group camps form in this section. The Sarnak language is spoken by casters (magic-resist gear helps).

Central Hall (levels 50-55)

Di'Zok mages, slavers, and mid-tier named. The main traffic-route of the dungeon.

Throne Room / Royals Camp (levels 55-60)

The famous Royals camp — Queen, King, Prince, Princess, and their royal guard. Named spawn on long timers. Drops include:

  • Talisman of Benthic Might — one of the best caster waists in era.
  • Royal Sarnak pattern armor — class-specific crafted pieces.
  • Royal blades — weapons with Sarnak-themed procs.

The Arena (levels 55-60)

Sarnak gladiators and arena-themed named. Quest-relevant for some Sarnak-aligned questlines.

Chardok B / Halls of Betrayal

Post-launch expansion of Chardok with additional named and a more linear progression. Drops higher-tier content.

Why charmers love it

Charm soloing is the Chardok signature:

  1. Enchanter or Necromancer charms a Sarnak Royal.
  2. The Royal becomes a temporary pet with massive HP and DPS.
  3. The pet tanks the rest of the camp while the charmer kills adds.
  4. Royal drops go to the charmer directly.

This loop makes Chardok the top charm-duo zone in the Classic-Kunark era. Successful charm soloers report plat income rivaling most group camps.

Charm break warning

If charm breaks, the Royal turns on the charmer. This is one of the most dangerous solo moments in EverQuest. Experienced charmers keep root and mez ready, and Gate available if things go truly sideways.

Etiquette

  • Royals camp is typically list-managed. Check /ooc before attempting.
  • Charm soloers coordinate with each other — two Enchanters at Royals is fine; ten is chaos.
  • Don't train past the throne room. The Queen's guard will follow patrols back and wipe your camp.

Notable drops

  • Talisman of Benthic Might — caster waist, iconic.
  • Royal Sarnak patterns — class-crafted armor components.
  • Chardok Key — needed for some deeper passages.

Pull mechanics

  • Monks FD-split the patrols.
  • Shadow Knights fear-pull the caster-heavy rooms.
  • Enchanters mez + charm, using mez to isolate Royals from their guard before charming.

ZEM

High ZEM for the 55-65 band. Chardok's tuning makes it one of Crushbone's premier endgame-adjacent XP zones.
