Races
Dwarf
Mountain stock — short, stubborn, excellent smiths. Starts in Kaladim.
Dwarves live inside the Butcherblock Mountains at Kaladim, follow Brell Serilis (Duke Underhills), and hold the best smithing tradition on Norrath outside of Kunark's Iksar. A Dwarf Warrior is the textbook front-line tank, and the Dwarf Paladin — especially of Brell — is the gold standard of the good-aligned knight.

Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Warrior.
Dwarves are the narrowest class list on the good side, all four classes melee-or-cleric oriented. No bards, no druids, no wizards.
City of origin
Kaladim (North and South Kaladim) is carved into the Butcherblock Mountains. Two tiers, a forge at the center, banks and trainers in the upper tier, a brewery in the lower. The Dwarf smith trainer is one of the best-known craft NPCs in the game.
Kaladim opens onto Butcherblock Mountains, which connects to the Ocean of Tears (boat to Antonica) and to the Greater Faydark complex via the eastern tunnel.
Lore notes
Dwarves carry Brell's mandate to hold the deep roads, which is why every Dwarf city is underground or mountainside, never surface. Their rivalry with the Gnomes of Ak'Anon is friendly by Faydwer standards and hostile by everyone else's.
Play note
The Dwarf Paladin of Brell is the best new-character paladin on the server. You start in a safe city, trainers are centralized, your faction with Kaladim guards carries you through Butcherblock, and Brell's symbol (Symbol of Marzin, later Symbol of Ryltan) is a reliable group buff from level 30 on.
