Races
Human
The baseline race of Norrath — flexible, common, middle of every stat. Starts in Qeynos or Freeport.
Humans are the most populous race on Norrath and the reference point by which every other race's differences are measured. They live short lives by elf standards, adapt to almost every environment, and produce every caster, priest, melee, and scout class the game offers.

City of origin
Humans choose between the two large cities of Antonica.
Qeynos (North and South Qeynos) is the "good" human home — Marr's Knights of Truth, the Temple of Life, and the militia. Rangers, paladins, clerics, and wizards feel at home here. The city opens onto Qeynos Hills and the Karanas.
Freeport (North, East, West Freeport) is the chaotic neutral port city — mercantile, thieves' guild, militia, Academy of Arcane Sciences. Necromancers, shadowknights, rogues, and magicians call Freeport home. The city opens onto the Commonlands.
Your choice is both mechanical (starting faction, trainer locations) and narrative — human alignment on Crushbone is who you chose to live alongside.
Lore notes
Humans have no unified origin in the EverQuest canon. Some lines trace to the Combine Empire; others claim older roots. What's certain is that humans were the ones who rebuilt civic life after the long fall, and every modern city borrows a piece of human administrative habit — banks, guards, writ, courier — whether it admits it or not.
Play note
If you're new to Norrath, start as a Human in Qeynos. You will find a trainer for your class, your faction will be clean, and the newbie zones (Qeynos Hills, South Karana) will let you learn how trains, cons, and camping work without the added difficulty of a city that does not love you.
