Shaman Epic 1.0 — Spear of Fate
The Shaman's click-slow weapon. Arguably the highest-value Epic click in the era.
The Shaman Epic 1.0 — Spear of Fate — is arguably the most mechanically important Epic 1.0 in the game. Its click effect is a 70% slow castable on demand that exceeds spelled-slow potency and remains one of the single most useful class buttons in PoP-era raid play.
Reward
- Spear of Fate — 1-hand piercing.
- Click: 70% slow on target (raid-critical).
- +WIS / +STA.
Chain shape (approximate)
- Starting turn-in — Cabilis shaman priesthood. (Non-Cabilis-friendly races need faction grinding first.)
- Kunark component phase — shaman-relic components from Iksar tribes and ancient ruins.
- Swamp of No Hope / Lake of Ill Omen — named kills in the southern Kunark zones.
- Frontier Mountains / Sebilis — higher-tier named. At least one step involves a Sebilis royal or a Frontier Mountains giant.
- Velious raid step — named wurm or elder serpent kill. Usually in Eastern Wastes.
- Final combine — tribal altar in Kunark.
Why this chain matters
Every raid with a Shaman relies on Spear click. The chain is usually guild-coordinated because a Shaman with Spear of Fate demonstrably shortens raid encounters by 20-30%.
Custom race-class note
Shaman is restricted in canonical EQ to Barbarian / Troll / Ogre / Iksar / Vah Shir / Froglok. On Crushbone, any race can roll — but the Spear chain starts at the Cabilis shaman priesthood. Good-race Shamans need to grind Cabilis faction to Amiably before even attempting the starting turn-in. See Faction for Custom Combos.
